About the Project
I worked with KSD Studio, a Mumbai-based interdisciplinary architecture and interior design practice led by Principal Architect Kshiti Shah, known for creating minimal, artisanal spaces balancing contemporary living with earthy aesthetics, to document the nursery floor at Stellar World School in Bandra.
The design was warm, inviting, and earthy, a deliberate departure from the traditional classroom, both in its material palette and its use of colour.
The Brief
The brief was to document the space for use by both the school and the design studio. The main challenge was technical: the space had almost no natural light, and multiple conflicting colour temperatures throughout needed to be carefully balanced to represent the design accurately.
The Approach
This was a lighting-heavy shoot from start to finish. I relied on flash lighting to balance the space overall, with most shots built from a combination of different lighting techniques layered together to get consistent, true-to-life colour and warmth throughout.
