About the Project
I worked with interior designer Varsha Agarwal and stylist Priyanka Agarwal on a minimal apartment in Mumbai, one that relies on texture and colour rather than ornamentation to feel like home.
The design leaned into neutral tones, cultural textiles, and distinctive Indian stonework, occupying an entire floor and thoughtfully laid out to suit the tastes of multiple generations under one roof. Because the apartment spanned a full floor, light poured into every space, elevating the home throughout the day, while smart use of screens and sliding doors allowed for privacy exactly where it was needed.
The Brief
The brief was documentation of the site. The main challenge surfaced during the recce: a number of furniture pieces and soft furnishings hadn't yet arrived, which meant shots couldn't be fully preplanned and instead had to be worked out more organically on the day.
The Approach
I used a mix of aspect ratios to convey the scale of the space, while making sure it never read as empty or under-furnished despite the missing pieces. Having Priyanka on set as stylist made a real difference here, helping fill and dress spaces on the fly so every frame still felt complete and intentional.
The shoot fell on a particularly rainy day, which meant working around brief windows of sunlight between showers so I timed nearly every shot to catch the light exactly when it appeared.
